How to contribute
Learn what we need from you and how you can share your Australian coronavirus or 2019–20 bushfire experiences. Stories are being reviewed by our curators and may take a few days to appear.
You are welcome to share more than one story. You can only upload one file type at a time.

Text | Type or paste into the form | 500 words |
Photos (max 5) | JPEG, PNG, GIF | 5 MB per image |

What’s essential
When filling out the 4-part form, we need your:
- email address
- state and postcode
- confirmation you’ve read and agree to our terms.
If you are 11 or under, you need to ask your parent or carer if it’s okay to share your story.
Story qualities
We put together a list of qualities for you to describe your story. We ask you to choose at least one. This tells us more about your collective voice and lets us group stories in different ways.
Events
We sometimes ask people to submit stories linked to Museum events or initiative. For example, we are calling for submissions for International Day of People with Disability. You can tell us your story is connected to an event on our Share your story form.
Why we need your email
We won’t publish your email address. We’ll only use it:
- to let you know your story is live
- if there’s a problem publishing your story
- to talk more if you have an object we’d like to add to our collection.
What’s optional
You can choose to add your:
- first name
- age.
Your name and age will appear on the website unless you choose to remain anonymous.
Contact us if you have more questions about submitting your story.
