It’s 2020. You’ve arrived in a new country unfamiliar with the customs and language but you’re ready to make the most of it.

After all, this is one of the biggest changes of your life and you’ve done it all on your own.

Rolling out of the airport, you wouldn’t have any idea what the new year would bring you and what you’ll have to face for the next couple of years.

Covid has been tough on everyone, especially with the uncertainty of money, living situation and educational environment but also the given struggle of being an international student in a foreign country, making the change even more daunting, considering the lack of equal opportunity.

According to research conducted by the University of Technology Sydney, one in five students feared that they will be made homeless and one in three found they had insufficient funds to buy food.

While the change to a new life in another time may have been an exciting new adventure full of prospects, it has put many students in the deep end without knowing.
