The Fear of the Youth

In the midst of a world where the pandemic is the new norm, a girl laments the loss of her youth as she mulls over a party in her living room that should’ve, could’ve, and would’ve occurred had Covid never happened.

How ironic is a world,
where daily life ends up all swirled,
in a pandemic of death,
youth is the one that takes a regress.

Parties and fun, memories of life times young.

‘How lucky you were’ said a young girl to the rest.

This, no this no longer exists,
only a memory that insists,
life should be like this,

It would’ve been like this,
it could’ve been like this,

If only Covid took a miss.
